Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Ireland
AdaptiveMobile is looking for a Software QA Engineer to create, execute and maintain functional, and automated test suites for a set of high performance (high volume, low latency) products and reporting/data mining tools developed for the telecommunications industry.
This role will give the successful applicant experience with a wide range of telecommunications and internet protocols: Email, Web, MMS, SMS and TCP/IP networking and sockets programming and also exposure to all aspects of the SDLC from product design through implementation. Good communications skills are essential.
Key duties / responsibilities are:

Design, create, and maintain suite of functional and/or system test plans and test cases.

Develop, maintain and execute automated test cases using in-house Test Automation Framework and Python.

Develop regression tool

Creation of test scripts (Python or other UNIX based Network shell scripting)

Perform custom manual tests

Investigating and reporting defects against the software under test and helping developers reproduce them.

Installing new releases from development and running automated test suites against them

Maintain regular and clear communications with management and other teams through effective test reporting.

Participate in the creation and reviewing of customer facing release notes for our live solution deployments.
Qualifications / Skills:

A degree in engineering
-
3+ years technical experience (with a minimum of 2 years in a quality assurance and/or programming role.)

Experience building automated tests

Good working knowledge of UNIX and/or other scripting language - shell programming, text manipulation within files, etc is essential

SDLC knowledge - specifically (test discipline) test plan, cases, metrics, execution, automation, (WEB/GUI) testing

Hands-on and very technical individual

Experience testing databases, server-side testing, and client-server testing

Strong interest and ability to learn new technologies.

Experience in telecommunications industry a plus

Experience with OLAP and/or data mining a plus
