Technical Project Manager - Delhi
AdaptiveMobile are seeking a Telecoms Project Manager to own the delivery of complex technical customer projects.
A strong individual is sought with customer facing experience and who can drive a project to completion. The role will include managing the project from kick-off, scoping, through implementation, design and roll-out. As well as working directly with the customer you will be expected to liaise with partners as well as with AdaptiveMobile Support, Implementation, Development and QA teams in Ireland, Czech Republic and India.
The project manager will be responsible for the day to day running and leading of the project and project team, tasked with the delivery of the project to the customer, they will also be involved from conception of the project to final acceptance and closure. This will include working closely with the team in multiple sites in India and remotely in Dublin. You will be predominantly based on-site in Delhi carefully managing the customers expectations.
A key role requirement is to maintain daily contact with the customer and to achieve the correct level of customer service whilst ensuring all project delivery milestones are agreed in advance and met in a timely and quality manner.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting agreed development objectives, monitoring, reporting progress to the project team and senior management, identifying and managing risks within the scope of the project and delivering results in meeting with the project time expectations.
He or she may be required to manage and interface with a number of subprojects and to manage the interdependencies technically and also the assigned resources in order to ensure that project priorities are executed seamlessly. Note that the project team could be in more than one location and possibly in different time zones. Travel (possibly international) will be required.
He or she will be working in a small to medium organisation and will as such be required to negotiate the availability of resources as required. The project manager will report to the Head of Operations and be responsible for ensuring that effective communication is maintained through project meetings, reporting and presentations.
Working as part of a commercial and technical cross-functional team.
Management of unplanned work (incident reports and change management) according to service levels.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills and Traits:
Possess a degree in an engineering related discipline, however relevant experience will be taken into consideration when assessing suitability for the position;
At least 4 years project management experience ideally in the mobile telecoms environment, experience with mobile messaging systems (Web/WAP, SMS, Email & / or MMS) an advantage;
Engineering background and preferably with a high level of mobile telecoms systems understanding;
Worked as part of a commercial and technical cross-functional team.
Management of unplanned work (incident reports and change management) according to Service levels;
3/4 years SW related experience in a high volume product development environment is desirable, however candidates with a highly developed cross-functional background will be considered.
Preferably, the candidate will also have experience the following areas:
Project methodology i.e. Prince 2 and/or PMBOK;
GSM/GPRS / UMTS data services and features;
GSM SW development involving the complete SW lifecycle including maintenance;
Technical understanding of mobile telecoms messaging systems e.g. Web/WAP/SMS/MMS;
Implantation/delivery of projects into operational mobile networks;
An understanding of handling SW in a production environment.
The candidate's skill set should also include project planning, risk analysis as well as an appreciation of commercial issues related to customer project management.
A key requirement of this position is the ability to drive the project forward in order to maintain the project schedule. This will require excellent motivational skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
Candidates must have good presentation skills and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels.
