We are seeking a Quality Solutions Engineer to work with Quality Assurance Team to install, set-up, configure and test customer solutions for the telecommunications industry in-house. Ensure products are tested using real life customer scenarios and cover end to end solutions as we expect to be deployed at customers. Main focus will be on system testing. Knowledge of telecommunications industry, network knowledge and written and verbal communication skills are essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design expected customer solutions and usage scenarios and develop tests (both manual and automated) to be performed in our QA Lab
Lead the designing, and testing the ‘ ideal standard’ customer configuration which can be used for ‘off the shelf’ deployments and single box solutions
Ensure quality of products for customer usability and maintainability
Create, review and maintain test plans and acceptance test cases
Contribute to test bed for system testing and automation
Review new requirements and work with Product Management to introduce new requirements and improve details of new features/solutions being considered
Review and updating of installation documentation and releases notes
Assist with handover of products to Operations for a new market release
Give internal train the trainer sessions when needed
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills and Traits:
Engineering Degree
Experience deploying solutions in a Mobile Telecoms Environment
Knowledge of Mobile Telecoms networks covering GSM, GPRS and UMTS
Experience in system implementation/integration within Mobile Networks
Unix/Linux system administration
Good working knowledge of UNIX and/or other scripting language - shell programming, text manipulation within files essential
Experience in System Application Testing in a QA role or implementation consultant
Experience with TCP/IP, routing, switching
Understanding of Mobile Data Application layer (MMS, SMS, Voice, Web/WAP etc.)
Hands-on and very technical individual with genuine interest in the quality of technical solutions delivered to market.
Technical understanding of mobile telecoms messaging systems i.e. Web/WAP/MMS a plus
Knowledge of any of the following technologies would be a plus: HTML, XML, Java, C++, Load balancing (Zeus, Big-IP etc)
Leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal skills
