AdaptiveMobile sees Sharp Rise in Volume of Mobile Network Virus Attacks

Dublin, Ireland - 16th July 2008 - AdaptiveMobile today recommended to mobile operators that they step-up security for their subscribers, as they witness a steady rise in attacks.
Recent analysis of data from AdaptiveMobile’s mobile operator customers suggests that two virus variants - CommWarrior and Beselo – are causing particular damage. While CommWarrior only affects Nokia Series 60 phones, Beselo attacks all smartphones, spreading via Bluetooth and MMS as a Symbian SIS installation file and is growing at four times the rate of CommWarrior.

AdaptiveMobile warns that Irish mobile harassment survey is symptom of an international trend

Dublin, Ireland - May 20th 2008 - AdaptiveMobile today issued a stark warning to both mobile operators and parents that the cyber-bullying of schoolchildren highlighted by recent research in Ireland is actually an escalating international problem.
The survey, carried out by Trinity College Dublin, questioned nearly 2800 pupils from eight secondary schools and shows that children as young as 12 are being targeted by cyber bullies through various forms of communication including mobile phone calls, text messages and e-mails.

Operators Need to Bite the Bullying Bullet , 160 Characters, 13th December 2007

The mobile phone is an intensely personal device, that is carried by most people everywhere they go, even leaving it turned on beside their bed at night. By the age of 15, almost every child in the UK has a mobile (94% of all 13-15 year olds) and 23% of three to six year olds in the UK use a mobile phone. Likewise in Italy 31% of 5-13 year-olds have mobile phones and nearly 100% of 14-18 year-old.

Mobile Spam in Saudi Arabia
